This is Mr. Dawley's sixth year as part of the Oakview choir family after teaching for four years in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District and two years in the Paw Paw Public School District! He has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Oakland University and is currently pursuing his Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Oakland University. In addition to being a choir director, he is also very involved in theatre. He has directed, music directed, choreographed, stage managed, tech directed, produced, and acted professionally in over 50 productions. Mr. Dawley has performed with choirs and theatre companies all over the United States including Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Connecticut, Maine, and New York. He has been in a number of movies and commercials as well. He loves to travel around the world and has been to all seven continents! Mr. Dawley was selected from thousands of nominations as a quarter-finalist for the 2017 Grammy Music Educator Award. ​​
